Erhvervsfyrtårn Femern has launched a new 7 million DKK innovation fund to support the development of innovative solutions for the construction industry and future global mega-infrastructure. The fund is open for application by SMEs and knowledge institutions, offering support of up to 1 million DKK for an innovation project.
The construction and civil engineering industry is evolving and both digital and sustainable transformations call for new solutions to keep up. Now, the new innovation fund under Erhvervsfyrtårn Femern (the Beacon of business Fehmarn) aims to contribute to the development of such solutions with a fund of 7 million DKK.
This is terrific news for robotics, automation and drone companies looking to develop new tech, while gaining new insights into the needs of the construction industry. By collaborating with other companies and/or research institutions, robotics companies have a chance to explore uncharted tech, for which they otherwise would have not had the knowledge or resources for.

Ideal opportunity to boost innovation efforts

The innovation fund aims to support innovation projects, which could be digital solutions or innovative materials. It could also be a solution for monitoring, treating, or replacing materials such as asphalt, soil, sediment, or cement. Examples include greener cement production, recycling solutions for asphalt, or sustainable solutions for construction sites. The possibilities are numerous, providing an opportunity for unique cross-sector collaborations.
