Aim Robotics left the Odense Robotics StartUp Hub at the Danish Technological Institute at the end of August. The only 2,5-year-old startup exits the Hub with four automatic robotic dispensing solutions and a software solution completed, UR+ certified and on the market.
Aim Robotics develops plug&dispense tools that are fast to install and easy to set up. Their FD series of material dispensers, SD series of syringe dispensers and Aim Path URCap system ensure precise dispensing. Thanks to their dispensers’ electric process control, Aim Robotics produces products that with the highest repeatability on the market, removes the need for compressed air supplies, provides flexibility to end users, and frees up more time and complexity for system integrators.
The company was nearing the finish line of their first dispensing product, when they moved from Copenhagen to Odense to enter the StartUp Hub in November 2019. CEO and Founder Mie Haraldsted and CTO Kārlis Āķis had several ideas for robotic dispensing solutions, which they developed during their 21 months in the StartUp Hub.
“The great thing about the StartUp Hub is that it opens the door to so many things at once; access to robotics expertise, testing facilities and certification – really accelerating our product development and fast-tracking our business. The opportunity to network with other robotics companies and partners was a fantastic benefit of being a part of the Hub – as well as the close proximity to other startups,” says Mie Haraldsted.
“That was another exciting part of being in the Hub – working alongside other startups who share our passion and drive, several even work within the same framework as us. The energetic atmosphere was truly contagious.”
Aim Robotics’ simple dispensing solutions make it easy for anybody to use, and they offer the world’s first dispensing non-air pressure unit for 400 ml cartridges. Furthermore, all their products are UR+ certified in Europe, Northern American and China.
What’s next for Aim Robotics?
The Corona crisis halted the startup’s sales in 2020, but gave them the time and opportunity to fine-tune their existing products to perfection and develop even more solutions.
Aim Robotics started off as a two-man team focused on mechanics and exited the Hub with a team of six and several departments. Their focus is now on developing their distribution network, of which they already have 30 distributors worldwide. The startup will further develop their marketing channels and sales department over the upcoming months, and they plan to be self-sufficient within the next year. Until then, their company is also highly focused on securing investments.
“Investments are an important focus of ours as we want to scale up the company and streamline our production. We have excellent products, which our customers have given us great feedback on and we now need to explore new ways of growing the company,” says Mie Haraldsted.
Odense Investor Summit took place last week with Aim Robotics taking the stage as one of the first companies of the day. Soon the team will also expand their catalogue of UR+ certified products when they integrate their dispensing tools with more collaborative robots for companies such as Kassow, TM Omron and Fanuc.
Offices in Copenhagen and Odense
Aim Robotics left the StartUp Hub in August and have since moved into their new offices on Niels Bohrs Allé (also home of another Hub alumnus, Spin Robotics) in Odense. Focusing on software development and robot integration, the startup will also be working out of Copenhagen, where their second office can be found. The Copenhagen office will focus on mechanics, product assembly and sales.
“We initially moved to Odense to be at the center of robotics in Denmark and for the inspiring network Funen has to offer – and this is also why we are staying. But with the national cluster opening hubs across Denmark, soon one in Copenhagen, we are confident we will have the best of both worlds with offices in two parts of the country,” concludes Mie Haraldsted.
