Capra Robotics has won the title ‘Robotics Company of the Year 2022’ and Spin Robotics has won the title ‘Robotics Startup of the Year 2022’ over six other strong finalists from across Denmark. The two ambitious robotic companies received the awards today at Odense Robotics’ annual conference, where Denmark’s robot, automation and drone industry was gathered.
Outdoor mobile robots can solve many challenges globally – and the technology from the Danish robotics company Capra Robotics will be a gamechanger in the market. That’s the verdict from Denmark’s robot, automation and drone companies, which today have awarded Capra Robotics the title ‘Robotics Company of the Year 2022’.
“This award is testament to Capra Robotics’ strong foundation created by the company founder Mads Bendt and the team we’ve built up together over the past couple of years. Capra Robotics aims to revolutionise the use of outdoor mobile robots in inspection and surveillance, urban service and maintenance, and logistics. The potential is huge and we’re humbled that Denmark’s robotics, automation and drone industry has chosen to recognise Capra Robotics with this award,” says Niels Jul Jacobsen, CEO in Capra Robotics and the robot pioneer behind Mobile Industrial Robots.
Capra Robotics’ ambition is to become Europe’s leading producer of outdoor mobile robots within the near future. Already, Capra’s outdoor mobile robots are operating at industrial sites, undertaking routine inspections in all kinds of weather. Now the Aarhus-based robotics company wants to expand internationally. The market for outdoor autonomous robots is estimated to value DKK 60 billion.
Capra Robotics won over two other strong finalists: Blue Ocean Robotics and Universal Robots. ‘Robotics Company of the Year 2022’ is awarded by Odense Robotics and sponsored by Nykredit Bank.
Screwdriving tool does manual tasks
Spin Robotics won ‘Robotics Startup of the Year 2022’, sponsored by Digital Hub Denmark, over many strong finalists: Aim Robotics, ARIS Robotics, Uniwelco and Weldingdroid.

We have had a strong focus on our tech development and now we have a strong product that can perform strenuous screwing tasks, which are done manually in many companies. We are a good team with big, global growth ambitions. Scaling up in Europe is what we’re focused on now. This award is a fantastic recognition of the growth potential that lies in our company and our product,” says Teit Silberling, CEO, Spin Robotics.
Spin Robotics accelerated their product development while they were part of Odense Robotics StartUp Hub, an incubator for ambitious robotics and drone startups located at Danish Technological Institute in Odense. Last year, Spin Robotics launched the company’s first collaborative screwdriving tool and now they are fully focused on upscaling. Initailly the Odense-based startup will focused on Europe, before looking further afield towards the North American and Asian markets at the end of this year.
Recognition from the robotics industry
Nominations and voting for finalists are made by the approximately 300 members of Odense Robotics.
