Earlier this month, Jesper Askov Bonde Petersen joined Odense Robotics as the Business Development Manager of Odense Robotics’ new Aarhus hub. Jesper will lead initiatives in Aarhus and central Denmark and establish and develop the regional hub, while also closely collaborating with the City of Aarhus and GovTech Midtjylland. As one of Jesper’s key responsibilities, he will facilitate a network with a strong focus on outdoor mobile robots as well as on all segments within robotics, automation and drone tech for companies and organisations in the Aarhus Hub.
Jesper has a background in consultancy and project management within sectors such as IT, production, engineering, energy and automation.
How will you make a difference for robotics, automation and drone companies?
I hope to be the link that connects Odense Robotics members in the Aarhus Hub. By helping companies and organisations match and enter into successful partnerships, we can deliver synergies in the cluster that can help the industry move to the next level.
My ambition is to help companies and organisations find the strong industry partners they need, and by supplementing each other with competences and resources, enable them to obtain insights into new areas that can help them grow and develop new robotics solutions.
I am also focused on creating synergies that can create value for our members, e.g. mapping industry players in the region, which the members can then draw on when looking for new partners, suppliers etc. I want to make the region’s robotics focus transparent, so members know what is being developed across the industry.
What are you most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to working on the network in Aarhus and central Denmark to provide members as soon as possible with a network with a strong focus on outdoor mobile robots – which the region has a high concentration of – while also covering all segments within robotics, automation and drone technology. Through this we hope to establish a valuable network that can help elevate the industry while also developing technical solutions for safety issues that arise when implementing mobile robots in the public sector.
I am also excited to meet the region’s robotics, automation and drone companies. Some meetings have been lined up already, but I am also looking forward to discovering new potential cluster members.
I cannot wait to sit down with the companies and learn more about them and their passions. Hearing about their technology and how their daily work is conducted – and of course learning about their purposes and drives. This is a requisite if we want to reach our goal of creating a strong network. We need to meet the companies and organisations to learn who they are and what they need to grow.
What experience can you draw on to make a difference for the Danish robotics industry?
My time as a consultant and project manager for various public institutions and large Danish automation companies has provided me with a strong understanding of business and organisation development, while my experience in working alongside engineers has taught me how tech can be converted into business potential.
Having my own consultancy agency also helped me garner a substantial network, which I will draw on when mapping the industry. I look forward to putting my network to good use and helping robotics, automation and drone companies and organisations come together and grow. Furthermore, due do my vast experience with project management and dedication to reaching organisation goals, Odense Robotics members can depend on me to bring together the network, which I will strive to make one of the country’s best.
