The tech development project DISARM is looking for companies to help take the first important steps towards safer and faster localisation and removal of UXO using autonomous drones, mobile robots and advanced sensor suites.
In the current conflict in Ukraine alone, the Russians have launched 10-18 mio. grenades with approximately 60% being unexploded ordinance (UXO). Furthermore, they have scattered an unknown number of anti-tank mines covering 50% of the country’s area (300.000 km2). It is estimated that the removal process will take five years as the precise locations of both, are unknown – and will cost countless human lives.
In collaboration with the Danish knowledge institutions Danish Technological Institute and Aalborg University, Odense Robotics is currently looking for companies to participate in DISARM (Drone- and Mobile Robot Integrated System for Automated UXO Removal and Mapping). The project aims to lay the foundation for future strong commercial and R&D partnerships addressing the localisation and removal of UXO and bringing new robotic products to market that will reduce the loss of human life and make the world a little bit safer.
