Interest in Danish automation solutions is high in Europe, where manufacturing companies are challenged by a lack of qualified labour and increasingly demand more flexible automation. Danish robotics companies will showcase solutions at the continent’s biggest robotics trade fair later this month. The fair is good business for the small robotics companies ready to expand internationally.
Robots and automation are one of Denmark’s fastest growing export industries with exports totalling 15.6 billion kroner last year and Germany is the largest export market for Denmark’s robotics and automation industry. That’s why Danish robotics and automation companies are heading to Munich later this month to take part in a Danish pavilion at automatica. The trade fair is an important gateway to not only the Germany market, but also the entire European market.
“Germany is the largest export market for Denmark’s robotics and automation companies. At the same time, German manufacturing companies face the same challenges as Denmark, with a lack of qualified workforce and an increasing need for flexible automation,” says Søren Elmer Kristensen, CEO, Odense Robotics.
”Denmark’s robotics and automation industry offers many solutions of interest to the German and European market. automatica is by far the trade fair in Europe, where the latest innovations within automation are showcased for buyers from the entire continent. And we know from experience that the trade fair creates new business opportunities for both small and big companies. I am really pleased that we are able to send a strong Danish delegation to automatica once again this year.”
The Danish delegation is arranged by Odense Robotics with support from the Danish Trade Council. The companies in the Danish pavilion are: Cobot Lift, HARTING, Meili Robots, Nordbo Robotics, Smooth Robotics and Spin Robotics. And the Danish robotics presence doesn’t stop there. Gain & Co, HowtoRobot, Kassow Robots and Universal Robots will showcase their solutions at their own stands.
Small companies meet big companies
It’s good business to be a part of the Danish pavilion. Last year, Spin Robotics took part in the Danish pavilion arranged by Odense Robotics at automatica. This led to a close dialogue with BOSCH, where the Danish robotics startup got the opportunity to show their solution at the company’s headquarters in Munich. Now BOSCH has implemented Spin Robotics’ solution in test areas in Germany and Portugal. The plan is to implement the solution in BOSCH’s manufacturing in the future.
“We know the trade fair is good business – that’s why we are taking part again this year,” says Teit Silberling, CEO & Co-Founder, Spin Robotics. “BOSCH came by the stand after having seen a post on LinkedIn about our solution. We presented the solution to them and then continued our dialogue after automatica. After around just three months they placed an order. We hadn’t imagined that a company as small as ours could partner with such a big player in the market. Our partnership with BOSCH gives us important insights for our further developing our solution and is a huge seal of approval that can open doors to other companies.”
The Danish presence at automatica also includes Odense Investor Summit in the Start-Up Arena followed by an informal ‘after party’.
