Intelligent Systems A/S took home the title of Company of the Year, while ROICO was named Startup of the Year. The awards were presented at the Odense Robotics Annual Meeting on 8 April, where participants from across Denmark’s robotics, automation and drone ecosystem gathered.
Odense, Denmark – April 8: Intelligent Systems A/S, based in Hadsund, develops software solutions that integrate different systems and enable fully automated execution of tasks in production and warehouse environments. The company’s ambition is to make production workflows more efficient – in Denmark and around the world.
Now, Intelligent Systems A/S has been named Company of the Year – a recognition that CEO Niki Nicolas Grigoriou is thrilled about.
“We are extremely excited to win the Company of the Year Award. A great thanks to everybody, who have encouraged us and voted for us. I must also highlight the other nominated companies RiACT and Meili. Two great companies we also work with as partners. It is also intriguing that all three companies are software companies. I believe that software will play a central role in the robot industry and will characterize robot development in Denmark, EU and the world going forward.”
Intelligent Systems A/S was up against strong competition from two other finalists – Meili Robots, based in Kongens Lyngby, and RiACT from Copenhagen. The Company of the Year award is sponsored by Middelfart Sparekasse.
ROICO named Startup of the Year
The evening’s second award, Startup of the Year, went to ROICO, an Odense-based company. The team at ROICO has developed a collaborative painting robot designed to work alongside professional painters. The robot navigates autonomously along walls, easing the physical burden of painting and increasing productivity.
“We are truly grateful for the recognition from our fellow robotics colleagues. It is a recognition of all the hard work, dedication, and grit of our team. We have received a lot of support through the robotics sector, and we want to thank everyone that has played a role in our growth. We also see this as further support for our mission to empower painters,” says Tijmen Spiertz, CEO of ROICO.
ROICO was nominated alongside O-Robotics from Aarhus and KOBOTS from Odense. The Robot Startup of the Year award is sponsored by PLM Group.
Recognition from peers
The Company of the Year and Startup of the Year awards are presented annually by Odense Robotics. The winners are selected through a vote open to all member companies in the cluster – more than 350 in total.
This is the sixth time that Odense Robotics has presented the Company of the Year award and the fourth time the Startup of the Year has been announced.
“With these two awards, we celebrate Denmark’s robotics, automation and drone industry and highlight some of the companies that have made a significant impact over the past year. Their innovative solutions drive growth, create new jobs and strengthen Denmark’s position as a global frontrunner in robotics. It’s a great pleasure to help recognise their achievements,” says Søren Elmer Kristensen, CEO of Odense Robotics.
Previous winners of Company of the Year include Unicontrol (2024), FarmDroid (2023), Capra Robotics (2022), Mobile Industrial Robots (2020), and Inwatec (2019). Startup of the Year has previously been awarded to AgriRobot (2024), Yuman (2023), and Spin Robotics (2022).
