Kim Als has joined Odense Robotics as the new Business Development Manager who will be responsible for assisting robotics, automation and drone companies in elevating their supply chain processes. Kim has an extensive background in supply chain development and optimisation, which he worked on in large companies such as Odense Steel Shipyard, ABB and most recently as the Head of Operations at Saferoad.
How will you make a difference for robot and drone companies?
I am excited to get to meet the members of Odense Robotics and my focus will be on how to best assist and support them. I hope to contribute to the cluster’s activities by matching our members with competent and committed suppliers and partners – local, national and international. I am dedicated to finding prime partners when it comes to quality, price, time of delivery and commitment to support the cluster’s members – from startups to SMEs, which I will do by compiling lists of potential suppliers in the industry.
I will apply my extensive experience from large and smaller companies from various industries to support our members and their growth by helping them move from idea to prototype to successful business.
What are you most looking forward to?
I am looking very much forward to meeting robotics, automation and drone companies and the people who work there – and understanding their supply chain needs and challenges. I want to help them realise the opportunities that can help them grow.
I am also excited to start assisting members in optimising and strengthening their supply chain efforts, which will help give them a competitive edge. Furthermore, I am eager to help startups and SMEs with no supply chain focus to get started on setting up their supply chain flows to support their sales.
Bridging the gap between sales, development, and operations is one of the areas I cannot wait to dive into. By developing and improving supply chain processes, companies will be able to deliver even better services and products to their customers.
Most of all, I am excited to be a part of the national robotics, automation and drone cluster’s thrilling journey.
What experience can you draw on to make a difference for the industry?
I will draw on my experience from different companies and various industries. Throughout my career, I have worked with supply chain development and optimisation, where I have developed and implemented customised supply chain processes. With my experience with improving product development, planning, logistics and production, I hope to help robotics, automation and drone companies change their purchasing approach to procurement through planning, negotiation and contracts.
I hope I can contribute to more companies realising the importance of having strong supply chain processes and getting companies to add supply chain optimisation to their daily agendas, enhancing the robotics and drone cluster even more.
