New partnership to accelerate global growth in robotics industry

The Danish Industry Foundation and Odense Robotics have entered into a new partnership that aims to accelerate global growth in the robotics industry. With significant funding from the Danish Industry Foundation, Global Growth Robotics seeks to provide robot, drone and automation companies across the country with better conditions for international growth.
The Danish Industry Foundation and Odense Robotics have entered into a strategic agreement to accelerate growth in Denmark’s robotics industry. The Danish Industry Foundation has awarded DKK 8.1 million to Global Growth Robotics, a tailored acceleration programme for Danish robot, drone and automation companies seeking to grow internationally. The project will be launched at the start of 2021 and will run over approximately three years.
“Denmark has succeeded in becoming a global leader within robotics and automation – particularly within collaborative robots and integrated automation solutions. If we are to realise the sector’s huge potential, it is essential that robot companies in Denmark have the best possible conditions for growth. Our ambition with Global Growth Robotics is to strengthen the robotics industry’s competitive position and build an even stronger foundation for exports in the future,” says Thomas Hofman-Bang, CEO, The Danish Industry Foundation.
Over the past decade, Denmark’s robotics industry has grown to be one of the country’s most promising export sectors. Today, the sector has more than 300 companies and employs more than 8,500 people. Analyses by Damvad Analytics show that the robotics industry has the potential to create up to 25,000 jobs in Denmark towards 2025.
The robotics industry is by definition a global industry with a global market – and to succeed, companies need to focus on more than developing new technologies and solutions. Global expansion requires a dedicated focus on developing agile strategies and building an organisation that can compete in this fast-growing market, where robotics technology is continually being introduced in new and more industries.
“If we are to succeed in creating even more international robot successes, developing new, innovative products and solutions is not enough. We also need to excel at creating organisations and strategies that can compete in these fast-growing companies. That’s why the Danish Industry Foundation’s funding for the robotics industry is so significant. We look forward to bringing the project to companies across the country,” says Mikkel Christoffersen, Cluster Director, Odense Robotics.
Global Growth Robotics is designed for companies across the country and across the robot and automation industry’s value chain, from startups to established companies, from component developers to producers. Global Growth Robotics offers companies a specially tailored programme with focus on strategic development of the company’s business, market and organisation. Companies will have a personal mentor and coach with solid sector experience.
“Global Growth Robotics is a strategic and tailored growth programme for ambitious tech companies that want to be a part of an exclusive robot and drone network and learn from the very best in the sector while at the same time developing their company,” says Mikkel Christoffersen.
More information will be available over the coming months for companies interested in participating.
