New robotics technology fair kicks off in September

R-18
R-18 is a new, three-day expo-conference in Odense where you can explore the latest research and developments within robotics and drones – and meet fellow business leaders, politicians and decision-makers from all industries.

R-18 takes place for the first time on 11-13 September at Odense Congress Center. Here you can enjoy a packed conference programme and see leading robotic companies and suppliers showcase their latest hard- and software developments alongside robotics and drone technologies.

“R-18 is a unique opportunity for the cluster’s robot and automation companies to meet customers, partners and potential employees on home ground. I’m pleased to see yet another initiative that can increase the visibility of Odense as a leading centre for robotics technology,” says Mikkel Christoffersen, Business Manager at Odense Robotics.

The Odense Robotics cluster management team will be present throughout R-18 as part of the keynotes and expo. Mobile Industrial Robots, Blue Ocean Robotics, WallMo, and Purple Robotics are just some of many companies from Odense Robotics who will showcase their developments and careers.

Meet companies

The conference programme includes national and international keynote speakers such as Henrik I. Christensen, leading professor on robot technology and former adviser to Barrack Obama and  an exhibition area with live demos, and several partner events such as Danish Export Day, UAS Drone Exhibition, and Odense Investor Summit.

Danish Export Day will take place on the first day of R-18 and will offer businesses insight into gaining a competitive advantage using the latest technologies. The Trade Council will provide 30 export consultants from all over the world to give companies advice on export opportunities – free of charge.

“I am pleased by The Trade Council’s decision to host Danish Export Day at R-18 and E-18. I am confident that this will strengthen all parties, as there is a considerable export market for both electronics and robotics. We expect to attract 600-900 decision-makers from various fields to the event,” says Søren Therkelsen, Project Manager for E-18 and R-18.

Odense Investor Summit on day two will have more than 20 drone, robotics and health tech startups pitching their business ideas to more than 100 international investors with more than DKK 200 million in funds.

The Strategic HR & Recruitment event on day three will gather HR groups and decision-makers from the tech industry to learn more about how to attract and retain talent – locally and abroad.

R-18 is free to attend and runs in parallel to the electronics trade fair E-18. Visitors can walk freely between R-18 and E-18. Both fairs have increased focus on topics such as Industry 4.0 and 5.0, Cloud Computing, IoT, Big Data, human-robot interaction and Artificial Intelligence.
