An online collaboration fair at Aalborg University has unlocked exciting possibilities, laying the foundation for new projects and collaboration between students and companies. The fair was initiated by RoboCluster (now part of Odense Robotics), AAU Innovation and DigitalLead.
In collaboration with RoboCluster (now part of Odense Robotics), the Department of Electronic Systems at Aalborg University held an online collaboration fair connecting engineering students majoring in electronics, software, robot technology and cybersecurity directly with companies. All with the aim of getting students closer to companies in relation to future project collaboration, future internships or student jobs.
Developer of wireless solutions for the telecommunications industry RTX A/S was among the participating companies:
“This year’s new virtual format has really been good. It is without a doubt a different way of connecting with the students and we got to meet more students. However, although the online fair has been good, we are looking forward to next year and getting to meet people in person again,” says Mads Berre Eriksen, Technology Lead, Platforms & Architecture, RTX A/S.
Digital meeting rooms inspired dialogue
Besides RTX A/S, 12 other companies and 150 students participated in the fair, which was kicked off by a big pitch session, where all of the companies introduced themselves to the students.
Afterwards the event entered a breakout session with all the companies hosting their individual meeting rooms, giving the students a possibility to interact more closely with the companies.
“It is always interesting and relevant for us to participate in this fair. Here we get the chance to connect with potential future talents, brand our company as well as learn where the students’ interests lie, giving us new opportunities for future collaboration,” explains Mads Berre.
Ove Andersen, Associate Professor at the Department of Electronic Systems at Aalborg University, explains why the fair is so important to the university’s ambition in regards to educating highly qualified attractive talents in close collaboration with the industry.
“RoboCluster has been essential in, despite the COVID-19 situation, completing the collaboration fair in 2020, establishing connections between companies and the university,” Ove Andersen explains.
