The purpose of the LSP Ship Factory project is to automate ship production through a cell-based, multi-robot system powered by robotics and artificial intelligence. By using the unique facilities at SDU’s Center for Large Structure Production, the project enables shipyards to adopt flexible, digital, and robot-assisted manufacturing solutions without the need for expensive, custom-built equipment. This approach aims to improve efficiency, quality, and working conditions, while addressing labor shortages and strengthening the competitiveness of Denmark’s maritime industry.
