Recycling and reuse of materials are an enormous and necessary focus area for the healthcare sector. It involves both green transformation and freeing up resources for an already stretched workforce.
Would you like to be part of finding the robotic solutions? Then join us on November 22nd as we roll up our sleeves to explore paths towards potential solutions.
Based on the network’s knowledge, expertise, and the information gained from the three network meetings over the past six months, we will delve deeper into how technology and automation can help hospitals move away from single-use items to instead reuse a much larger portion of their waste. The workshop will be facilitated by consultants from the Danish Technological Institute.
The healthcare sector’s climate footprint is a burning issue. Enormous resources are used in the operation of the country’s hospitals and healthcare institutions. The amount of gloves, syringes, and uniforms that are discarded directly into the trash after single use is a clear example.
The green transformation in the healthcare sector is lagging behind, and the potential for recycling is therefore significant.
Robots and automation are part of the solution. A wide range of technologies are in play – from item identification, sorting, and transportation to sterilization.
Therefore, we have established a free network for green transformation in the healthcare sector. The network will convey the needs and challenges of end-users and create space for exchange and collaboration between end-users and companies, as well as among participating companies.
The first meeting was held at Odense University Hospital on June 22nd, the second meeting included knowledge from the Center for Sustainable Hospitals in the Central Denmark Region, and had presentations from the environmental and plastics experts at the Danish Technological Institute. The third network meeting was held at the Danish Technological Institute and Marius Pedersen A/S on October 25th. Even if you didn’t attend the network meetings, you are very welcome to participate in the workshop.
