New drone platform for pilots

Plan2Fly has developed a new open drone planning platform that gathers all the processes in a drone mission in one place, providing drone pilots with a “mission planning tool”. Via the platform, pilots can find relevant info, thereby optimising their processes and resources.
The Middelfart- located drone company Plan2Fly has developed and launched a “mission planner” module, where drone pilots can find information on No Fly Zones, safety zones, create missions, add shot lists and more, allowing them to visualise and structure their upcoming drone missions.
Having prior knowledge of a location offers pilots a sense of reassurance, and in cases where permissions are required, they can share their visual plan through a unique link. This combination of overview and tools enhancing efficiency and processes for the professional drone pilot. Digital mission plan sharing has already become a favourite among users.
“For drone pilots, the sharing tool is especially useful, as clients are mostly unaware of regulations and the potential need for permits. By sharing a planned mission, it creates valuable insights and accept from clients – what is possible and what is not. We have experienced that pilots who share their mission plans in quoting, are often more likely to win the bid – even at a higher price, because they stand out and exude more professionalism than the competition,” said Ulrik Max Nielsen, Founder of Plan2Fly.
In the coming future, Plan2Fly will focus on the automation of standard permits within the open category as well as expanding the zone map with “no fly zones” from other European countries.
“We want to help drone pilots ease all processes included in a mission. We have been flying fulltime since 2015, and this is how we know of all the challenges flying can bring. By using our platform, pilots can find all the information they need to conduct successful and legal drone flights – easily and swiftly,” says Ulrik Max Nielsen.
Free platform developed through collaboration
The platform was developed through Innobooster funding programmes and the innovation project DigitaliseringsBoost, run by Odense Robotics and Business Hub Fyn, with input from Design School Kolding, DEAS, ISS, Eseebase, and others.
Plan2Fly is currently offering the platform free of charge, giving drone pilots access to relevant info instantly. The team hopes to expand this soon and create a premium version with even more features.
